My name is Tony L. Tate. I am from the Houston area, a place called Baytown. I began playing music when I was 8 or 9 years old. I started with the guitar, then moved to piano, the saxophone, then the bass. Most of my time as a musician has been spent as a saxophone player.
I did a couple of years of college then decided to quit. I couldn't hack it. After working in a restaurant for the next 4 years I became afraid that I would be stuck in Baytown for life so, I did something drastic. I joined the Navy.
After being in for about a year I auditioned for the Navy music program, and spent the next 19 years as a navy saxophone player, and picked up a few other skills.
As soon as I had some money saved I began buying home recording gear and began developing my skills writing and recording my musical ideas.
At present I don't use any of that stuff. I use an iMac computer and only the recording software that comes with it, Garage Band. I use Apple's Jam Packs (prerecorded loops and sequences) to enhance what I am doing. They also come with awesome sound banks which I play using an M-Audio USB keyboard. For a final process, I use Peak Le version 6, by BIAS.
At this point I am not sure what my goal is with music. I just know that I like writing and recording new ideas. You can find more music info about myself and other independent artist @ JesusJams.net
