These are Barry's words concerning this song:

On December 8, 1980, on 72nd Street in New York City, John Lennon was assassinated. The great torch that this man carried, shining so brightly for all the world, fell to the pavement and was extinquished.  It has lain dormant, smoldering there many years.
For whatever reason, be it lack of desire, lack of courage, complacency, contentment, fear, or simply uncaring or unawareness, no one has picked up that torch.  Although I will never fill John Lennon's shoes, I felt that with this song, "Love Is The Way," I might try to make a humble attempt to pick up the torch and carry it around the world as John, and others, have done before me.  May it continue to burn bright for our children, and their children, and throughout the course of human history.
