Bio:
The Quarantined, led by Sean Martin on vocals, Alec De Kervor on guitar, Chad Ellis on bass, Kaspars Grinbergs on drums. With their engaging songwriting, high energy and poetic self-destruction, The Quarantined bring another spawn of rock music, fusing standards from today and the cornerstones that built them from Jimi Hendrix, to Black Sabbath to Green Day. As Jonathan Bates said, "Its like you're taking ALL the best parts from ALL the best music of Punk and old metal."

Sean grew up singing from the age 4. He always had music in his life, playing constantly like a soundtrack. His father was a radio DJ, his mother a lover of opera and Classical music; there was always a wide pallet of music in the house. Once he started taking lessons from his local guitar legend, Barry Marloff, he got tuned into bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Ozzy, Nirvana, Metallica, Pantera, the Doors and Guns n Roses.
After a turbulent adolescence, Sean took the anger and frustration from his youth into the Army, where he deployed to Iraq with the 3rd/509th Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 4th Brigade 25th Infantry Division.
Of course he took his guitar with him.
Sean was released from the military with an honorable discharge, in late 2007, when he turned his sights to music schools armed with his G.I. Bill.
He landed in LA at Musician's Institute (MI) in 2009, where he took his music knowledge to the next level, learning about jazz legends like Coltrane and Joe Pass, to studying Earth Wind and Fire, to Jeff Beck to Stevie Wonder; not just from a musician's point of view (how to play it) but from an engineer's perspective (how to recreate something like it in the studio.) At MI, Sean played in many bands, one of which was with Alec De Kervor, who was also a guitar student at MI. They cut their teeth playing down the Sunset Strip, but also around the Valley and other parts of LA, San Diego and Northern California.
After taking classes in sound engineering, Sean started writing/playing/singing by himself while learning from great engineers/producers like T.j. Helmmeric and Dave Issac, and created the start of The Quarantined in Musician's Institute's Studio A, when he recorded "Sex and No Regrets" in July 2011.
Since then Sean went on to record "Where did you go?" and "Ballad of a Dead Man" in Musician's Institute's Independent Artist Program (IAP) project studios, using only an Avalon, logic, and a diverse collection of 3rd party plugins. Sean is currently developing more material with Alec, Chad, Kaspars and Kat Kaplan, in preparation for an upcoming Southern California tour.
