As a teenager, I played guitar and sang in various bands, started to experiment on a 4-track tape machine, and began to write electonic music & songs around 1996 (at 16) I started home-recording between 2000 and 2003, and then began playing solo with electronic, in 2004, when I took the stage name Skycraper (to scrape the sky : a very poetic idea isnt'it?) My first "official" album, "The Bontempi Sessions" gathered songs mainly in french, with a very poppy, colored flavour. The second LP "Wasted Waves of Love" was completed in 2007. With this record, I wanted to explore darker territories, with a more atmospheric feel (the result is sometimes described as cold-wave). Lyrics, this time mainly in english, deal with the fact that in the modern world, attempts to be understood or accepted are often hopeless ; that's the meaning of the record's title. In 2008, "Wasted Waves of Love" is distributed by FNAC store in Paris, and gets excellent reviews. 2009 is chaotic since Benoit goes through a lot of changes (notably he moves from paris to Troyes, in the east of France) yet he starts recording the 3rd album. The recording sessions go through 2010 ; the new album will be released summer 2011. It will merge the electronic, poppy side of the 1st record with the more mature side of the 2nd.
