Bio:
IX aka Nnamdi Obiago, was born to a Nigerian born father and African-American mother. Music and sports have always been his first loves from a very young age, but he didn't completely start writing rhymes until his senior year in high school in Tacoma, WA. NIX went on to enroll at Washington State University where he later was introduced to Jevy in 2000. Unfortunately, he left WSU in 2002 and in 2003 eventually found himself in Los Angeles, CA continuously writing music and working to become a better MC and artist. Although his first influences are of R&B and Jazz backgrounds like Stevie Wonder, Sade, Michael Jackson and Prince, he admits he's ultimately influenced by the great lyrics from artists such as Tupac Shakur, Biggie Smalls, Nas, Jay-Z, Outkast, Jadakiss, LL Cool J and Lil Wayne of the world of hip hop. Currently, he's looking forward to the project being developed between he and Jevy which is The Take-Off Mixtape Vol 1 & 2 set to be coming so this summer. NIX will also be working on his solo album, A Scorpio's Mind set to release in 2011! Jevy was born in Seattle, WA but has lived and travelled to various places throughout his life which has contributed to his ability to develop a hip hop sound and style that captures all ears. His passion for creating music began while he was very young. In college he became a member of a hip hop group known as “T.A.”. Their success as a group included opening up for major artists, college radio play, releasing 2 studio albums, and recording/working with Kevin McCall (Chris Brown’s Deuces). After college Jevy moved to San Diego, CA and took some time to re-discover his craft. Jevy’s return to music has been unprecedented, and he has clearly defined his self as a hip hop artist with longevity. Currently he is working on the much anticipated project “The Take Off Vol I” with long time friend and brother NIX. His first solo album is set to release in 2011!
