Last year was a big one for West End artists Steph and Garth. They met, they fell in love and they then gave birth to one of the region’s best musical creations yet. It was a perfect scenario that produced a perfect sound for the indie, soft rock duo. They had managed to combine their passion for each other with their passion for music and the sound was well and truly colourful. From there it’s safe to say the musical baby stretched and grew into a bubbly toddler before transforming into an emotional teen. They jammed, played gigs, and as their relationship grew so did their musical fusion. On one side of the fence Steph brought an earthy yet alluring sound that gave her voice melodic qualities – and on the other side Garth brought enchanting guitar chords that mixed beauty with a direct and honest feel. Yep, the pair was definitely on to something. And as their smooth, yet quietly alternative tunes grew so did their fan base. “It’s hard to imagine we’ve come as far as we have in such a short time,” Steph said. “But it feels right – everything feels so right. And I guess that’s something that’s poured into our music. “We find it hard to put a label on our sound – but what we’ve got comes from the heart without a doubt, and we can’t wait to share it with more and more people,” she said. Just weeks ago the pair finally put together their much anticipated demo album with the help of Empire Studios. The once bright and bubbly baby had finally grown to be a vibrant young adult and Steph and Garth’s songs proved to be at their most heart wrenching and well developed yet. From here the sky is the limit. They have a hot sound, a hot look and a burning passion that’s ready to sweep up everything in its wake.
