Bio:
RealmsDeep is an all-original, modern rock band based in Plano, Texas, formed in November 2010. After spending the previous year playing the local Dallas circuit, the founding members, Keith Watson (drummer) and guitarist, Sparky Bush revamped their sound and direction with the addition of bassist, Jacki Billings and front vocalist, Macie. “The addition of the new members has given RealmsDeep a much broader range and professionalism that we were lacking previously. With the blending of R&B, soul, pop and hard rock genres, we have developed a unique “indie-alternative” sound,” says Bush.

With an existing collection of songs in their repertoire, the group started re-working the material to fit Macie’s soulful vocal delivery and Jacki’s distinctive bass runs. “The addition of Jacki has helped beef up the rhythm section in the style of Band of Gypsy’s,” says Watson. “As far as our direction, we have expanded our range infinitely. We can do the hardest of hard and the easiest of easy and everything in between.” The infusion of inventive talent sparked two new songs, Sundown and You’re Not Alone. “I initially heard Macie several years ago, on a band website and things didn’t work out then for us to collaborate, but her voice has always stayed with me,” says Bush. “I jammed with Jacki several years ago and I remembered his attack of the bass and his ability to improvise. It is a blessing to have them both in the band as they have added a new dimension for the continued growth of RealmsDeep.”

Interestingly, Watson contributes as lyricist for much of the songs in their catalog. “Most of the (lyrics) that I write take only ten to fifteen minutes,” says Watson. “It’s hard for me to write upbeat, lovey-dovey songs.” Their collection consists of Somehow, a story about a torturous babysitter, played to a funky rock progression. The Crying Game, is a haunting lament of a near suicidal lover. Cold Hearted B****, is a skeptical view on the ways of politics and politicians. “On the surface, it seems very blatant and understandable but in fact, the meaning is hidden,” says Watson.

Bush, provides much of the bands concepts in the developmental phases. You’re Not Alone was the bands first experiment in 6/8 time, which Bush presented to the band, and the resulting chemical reaction is a success. Macie contributed the lyrics for You’re Not Alone. Sundown, is a soulful ballad with a contemporary rock sentiment. The lyrics were inspired by Watson’s wife, Megan.

The new quartet’s first playing gig was December 30, 2011 at The Boiler Room in Deep Ellum (Dallas, TX) with subsequent upcoming engagements throughout the area. Their main goal for early 2012 is to enter the studio to record a new demo for distribution. The band’s website: www.realmsdeep.com.
