The first thing you have to know about Ray Staar is that he’s old. How old? Suffice it to say he’s old enough to have been writing and recording songs since the middle of the last century. Having spent virtually all of his money on keyboards and recording equipment, upon retirement, he was forced to move from his adopted home town of San Francisco, California, to a small concrete shack on the beach in Mexico, where he now lives with his studio, his antique synthesizers and a fifty year old Strat..
