Next Show: The Red Dog Saloon, Friday April 4th

Get the word out. Our next show is at the Red Dog Saloon on Friday, April 4th @ 8 pm. We currently don't have any other shows on the schedule for 2025 so this may be it! Check back here for food and drink specials. -FOM

Thank You Crystal Saloon!

Thank you all for joining us for a pre Saint Patrick's Day party at Alaska's newest stage and venue, The Crystal Saloon. The night started off with a surprise visit from the City of Juneau Pipe Band on their annual pub crawl. They marched out of the Crystal playing “High Road to Gairloch” which happened to be the first song in our set! Fire on McGinnis loves it when people dance and we were not disappointed. Our music lends itself to any kind of dancing whether it's just groovin', jumping up and down, fairly circles or swing dancing. We don't much care as long as people are having fun.

None of this would have happened without the good folks at The Crystal Saloon. Especially David Elrod who did most of the coordinating, socials, posters etc. and Axel Gillam who easily pulled off the sound for us and even let us use some of his vintage microphones! -FOM

Upcoming Shows! The Crystal Saloon + The Red Dog Saloon

The Crystal Saloon Show is Saturday, March 15th. Get Your Tickets Here.

Yes. It's been a minute but FOM is excited to announce a few upcoming shows. Saturday, March 15th 2025 at the Crystal Saloon and Friday, April 4th at the Red Dog Saloon.

Most of 2024? What can we say, it was a tough year. The distractions seem to be never ending with work, life and health issues. Even when we are not on the circuit, playing live, FOM maintains regular rehearsals because we think that what we do is pretty unique, and the world needs music more than ever!

The event at The Crystal Saloon is really a St. Patrick's Day early celebration. March the 17th doesn't always land on a good night for celebrating and, this year is lands on a Monday. We contacted The Crystal and they were happy to squeeze us in for a St. Patrick's themed party.

We plan to go on around 8 pm and play to roughly 11 pm. A lot depends on the crowd. We can always play longer! Check back here for details, drink specials etc. -FOM

Join Us at the Maritime Festival!

Yes. The rumors are true. We are performing a short set at the Maritime Festival, Saturday, May 4th, downtown Juneau at the Peratrovich Plaza, near the library. Lots of great events and performances scheduled for the festival. We start around 6 pm and play until 7 pm. Yes, short and sweet! The beer garden will be in close proximity so, come enjoy a tasty beverage and listen to some Celtic rock Alaska style! 😎 -FOM

Bio:
With a totally unique sound that mixes the appeal of rock with the woodiness of Irish and Celtic music, Fire On McGinnis can only be described as a “head-banging, bagpipe playing live celebration.” The band evolved into the Celtic rock scene armed with the solid influence of bands like The Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly and The Pogues. For their debut album, Fire on McGinnis takes songs steeped in Irish tradition such as “Bedlam Boys,” “Foggy Dew,” and “Nancy Whiskey” and plays them with the intensity of a riotous rock song. Using the same eclectic approach, their original songs conjure up images of men toiling on the docks, waves crashing on a rocky solemn shore or the grizzled face of a disenchanted king in hiding. While the band likes to keeps things hot with smoking fiddle and bagpipe jigs; their true goal is to get the audience fired up. In fact, they say Fire on McGinnis live is slightly larger than life – like an Irish pub with a hot stove in the corner!
