Bio:: Jesse Slack is a singer songwriter who has a passion for songwriting and playing country music. With a flair for finding a melody in any genre of music, and meaning in any lyric, Jesse doesn't limit himself to only one genre, he also writes blues, rock and folk songs as well. Jesse explains "I write about things that I have experienced in my life, and I try to put a lot of feelings into my writing. I want people to feel those feelings or understand what I am trying to say because sometimes we all need to assure ourselves that we're not the only one who experiences things, or feels a certain way." Jesse Slack is a member of SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) and is actively pursuing a membership in both the CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association) and the NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International). As a writer, Jesse Slack prefers to explore the possibilities of collaborations, and has written and played with many talented performers such as Jimmy Bowskill, Steve Rivers, and Bobby Watson, and many others over the years. Jesse Slack has began performing early in high school with his twin brother Jake Slack in their country, rock band "The Slack Brothers.". Jesse admits "The Slack Brothers band formed after my brother won a Idol talent competition when we were in grade 9. We barely knew how to play but We began to think of the possibilities of being in a country band, Before that all we played was in grade school rock bands. I Then found a passion for writing country songs and I've been doing it ever since then." Now as a young adult, Jesse Slack is currently attending the Music Industry Arts Program at Fanshawe College where he is learning the skills required to further his songwriting and performance skills. Jesse frequently writes with his classmates and actively plays a role in helping produce other students material as well as his own. Jesse's goal is to one day work in the music industry as a singer/songwriter and producer. On his spare time Jesse enjoys horseback riding, and while he's still a relative greenhorn, he's won 2nd place in the phone book race during his first competition. Jesse has also made 2 guitars from scratch and enjoys wood working and using his hands as instruments of physical creation.
