Bio:
With a tender and full melodic style, Cora Rose is a fresh talent emerging from amidst the new wave of acoustic artists. A Wisconsin native, she began writing and performing at a very young age, developing her skill as a singer and songwriter. She recorded her first album as a sophomore in high school and in the following years followed a path that led her from rural Wisconsin to Nashville, Tennessee. In 2006, she felt a need to open both her mind and her music to a deeper understanding of the world, inspiring her to uproot from Tennessee and avidly pursue study and travel through College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine. While continuing to write, perform, and record a second album, she developed a focus in international development studies and immersed herself in ethnographic projects in West Africa and Mexico. These experiences fall in line with her vision of the purpose and style of her music. Her hope is to write music that draws on the influence of many cultures and is touching and meaningful to people of all walks of life. She now lives in New York City where she enjoys living within one of the world’s greatest epicenters of diversity and artistry.
