Bio:
Bruce Kaposta , aka BRU, was born in Houston, Texas. With his Hungarian/Hispanic, multi-cultural family roots, Bru has acquired valuable information about music, health and life experiences from his uncles and father who were the sons in an Air Force family that lived throughout the United States and Europe. His uncle Eric won the equivalent of American Idol in 1969 on a TV show entitled Paul Revere..Happening 69. Eric won a record deal with Decca Records for his 12 piece band’s first place finish against groups from all over the Country. The immediate Kaposta family loves the many sounds of RnB, Jazz, Soul and funkadelic artists. In fact, Bru’s cousins Julian and Kristian(Vocal/Guitarist) have been in the recording studio with legend George Clinton working on Clinton’s latest album. Some favorites of the family include Marvin Gaye, Ottis Redding, Al Green, Ed Townsend, James Brown and Elvis Presley. So BRU has always been influenced by the sounds of these artists. While growing up, Bru fell in love with hiphop music. His favorites were Tupac Shakur, LL Cool J, Dr.Dre, Warren G, Biggie, Diddy and countless others. His passion and love for music and women is romantic. He learned from his grandmother, America, to always treat women with love and respect. It’s apparent in his music that this passion and love is real. One day in 2003,his uncle ,gary kaposta, heard BRU rapping with the lyrics to 50 Cent’s In Tha Club. From that day on, it was Gary and BRU’s goal to get Bru exposed to the music market as the Marvin Gaye of HipHop. Bru’s music is about women, knowledge and peace.
