Bio:
Born and raised in the farming area of southern Illinois I was the lead singer of a local rock band called Neon Rainbow back in the late 60's. I spent seven years in the Army from 68 to 75 and had a couple different bands while in the service during off duty hours. The last year or so in the Army I worked for Army Public Affairs as a news broadcaster and as a Radio deejay on my off duty hours. I started writing country songs in the 70's , mostly inspired by the then new Outlaws artists. I played a solo acoustic act in bars around the Nashville area for peanuts and free beer and tried pitching my songs to various artists with little success. In 1978 I wrote a song that I didn't pitch to any artist until 1993. The artist took the song, verbal promises were made, the song became a hit in the new millineum and those verbal promises were never kept, thanks TK. Lesson learned, "COPYRIGHT", nuff said. In 2004 I rededicated my life to the Lord Jesus Christ after not living a very clean life for over 35 years. In 2007 my wife Nancy and I were asked to go to Waveland, Mississippi to be Volunteer co-ordinators at Camp Gulfside in the rebuilding efforts of the devastation from Hurricane Katrina. During that mission I started writing songs again, but this time of the Christian flavor. I 1st was inspired to write a song honoring Volunteers so I wrote "A Volunteer-A Friend". The songs kept coming and I wanted to get professional demos made to pitch them to various publishing companies. I met Gary Carter of GCMusic1, Gary toured 5 years each with Randy Travis and Faith Hill as steel guitar player in their bands. I started writing so many songs and sending them to Gary to get demos made that Gary suggested that I come to Nashiville and record the songs myself that he had all the musicians to lay down full band productions and to give my songs that sound they needed. Long story short, in the past 3 1/2 years I have written and recorded 5 albums and am now developing a name/logo (CBW). My songs are not all country or rock or blues or any established genre, but they are all mostly Christian. I like to call me songs; "Christian Music For People Who Don't Really Listen To Christian Music....and for those who do!"(there's a story behind that to). Yes the Lord has spared this sinner and has blessed me with the love of my life, Music. You know what? For that, I will give Him all the Glory, Amen.
