Singer, Songwriter

Anthony Cooper is a talented reggae singer with a consummate sense of grace and style. His unique way of singing reflects his rich culture which he makes evident with originality, poise and elegance. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Anthony Cooper, commonly referred to as “Mr. Cooper” got his first break in the music scene in 1988 when he performed at Jamaica's prestigious talent contest, (Tastee Talent) and was awarded “The Most Talented Performer.”

Throughout his musical endeavors, Mr. Cooper matured into an accomplished vocalist, songwriter and producer and has earned several notches under his belt by working with some Jamaica’s most notable artists such as: Maxi Priest, Buju Banton and Sanchez just to name a few. Mr. Cooper’s cutting-edge lyrics and infectious story-telling songs have always kept his fans happy and career thriving while traveling all across North America and the Caribbean.

As a former lead singer for Toronto-based, High Energy Band, Mr. Cooper’s debut album entitled “High Energy Raw” was released in 1999. In 2001, Mr. Cooper released his second album entitled “Versatile” under his own record label, Cancer Music Production and in that same year he scooped up “Top Male Reggae Artist for the year” at The Canadian Reggae Music Award for his highly favoured track entitled “Her Eyes On Me”. Further along his music journey, Mr. Cooper was nominated for a Juno Award for Top Male Reggae Artist in 2003.

At the present, his smash hit, “Old Fashion Love” is currently on high rotation at several radio stations across the country. A remix version of “Old Fashion Love” will incorporate Canada’s reggae sensation, Tasha T and is also due for release in the Summer of 2008. Mr. Cooper’s follow-up single release, entitled “Love Someone” is a great example of new material that keeps him in the growing world of reggae music. This single track is also due for release in the Summer of 2009.

Mr. Cooper believes that music is the essence of emotions that bring people together. He balances his career in music with his role as a dedicated father. He hopes that his drive and ambition will serve as an example to young people so that they can accomplish their dreams through hard work and perseverance.
