Bio:
There comes a time when things change. The Hip Hop community has spoken. From the tiniest websites to the largest music portals, Kryptic has maintained a 3 year presence all over the world. They hear the despair from the consumers who feel short changed with the seemlessly endless supply of thug killas. Hip Hop NEEDS a breath of fresh air. Kryptic, is that breath of fresh air. Conscious, melodic, and lyrically on point, Kryptic brings hope, education, love, humility and morality back to the genre with full force, while keeping your head noddin' to their self titled "Retro-Modern" sound which is a culmination of perfectly blended old school stylings with modern flavor. The group is an international duo consisting of British MC The Empress and American producer Rome X. Together since summer 2006, the two have overcome the vast distances between them to craft some of the most melodic and thought provoking music since the 1990's when hip hop was lyrically in its top form. Constantly challenged by the musical negativity around them, the outside forces trying to pry them apart to different groups as well as the obstacle of the Atlantic Ocean which separates them, the two have managed to release a few well received LP's/EP's. 2007's "Weapon Of Choice The Mic", the digital release of "Worldwide International: The EP" in 2008 and 2009's "Worldwide International: The LP". Each release contained cult hits that have garnered Kryptic fans and respect all over the world. From the BBC's 1xtra Homegrown Cutz where "State Of Mind" was broadcast all over Britain, to ukflowtv where "Be A Man About It" and "State Of Mind" were actually debuted to the world, Kryptic has also charted Top 10 songs on many well respected websites. Kryptic have forged forward on the independent level, keeping their hustle solvent strictly by releasing good music, being selective and always lyrical while bringing the big beat sound back to the game. The new album has already spawned popular songs such as "Purify", "The Cost Of Living", "Knowledge Is Power", and the genre bending "Story Of", and their journey has even taken them to the stage of the legendary Toads Place, in New Haven, CT USA, which is where Kryptic the group performed for the first time as a group. 2011 is the time that aspirations turn to realizations.
