The history of The Stone Circus is the story of a crossroad . A precise junction on time and place. A spot. The place Valencia . The time , spring 2005. Alex Moure, Rafa Fernández y Manuel Puche are three musicians who have recently witness the sunk of their band , but who are more than willing to rebuild, from the ashes, the ship. Pepo Suárez is a guitar player. Alex’s friend and former partner in the rock fields, who after a while out of the spotlight was starting to feel again the call of the wild. Juan “Little voice” Ferro is a singer with a warm and scratchy voice who has just landed from Uruguay in search of a place in the old Europe’s music scene. Their paths cross. The sparks fly. The blend of powerful riffeage with Little Voice husky but strong voice lend the band a personal and distinctive sound. The song writing begins, and from day one more than trying to imitate a given sound or style, they focus on the songs. They build their sound over a wall of guitars and powerful rythm section and on top of it Juan’s outstanding voice with a “soul” touch , add good melodies and the will of making each and every song stand by itself. And on the go the searching of a personal and unique sound to make their songs recognizable on the spot. At this point the band starts rolling the stages. At the beginning 2006 they enter RPM studios to record their first record. Which will be finished by november. Fine Stone Works is finally released in January 2008. The album gets excellent reviews in the specialized press and though it doesn’t sell a shitload , it serves to place the band in the national underground scene. Anyway, the slip hasn’t stopped . Not a second. The Circus have traveled the nation wide spreading their music, and even abroad when they get a spot at “The Burnthewitch festival” in London on July 2008. Just a month earlier The Stone Circus won the first prize at the “Lagarto Festival”. The reward opens them again the doors to the Studio, so they lock up at RPM studios, another time with Roger Garcia to produce their new project ,.way more ambitious in every way. In May WASTELAND is set for mastering. Just before entering the Studio Chicco announces the band his need to quit the band due only to personal circumstances . Even so, he would tape all the bass tracks for the new record. The substitute is found in Jorge Alos , who make his first stage appearence at El Loco in Valencia. While the album is being made, a contact with Vicente Mañó comes up , who would eventually end up being the band manager and releasing the album. Wasteland is set to be released in June 2010. The Stone Circus are ready to make history.
