Torrey has a remarkable story behind this photograph. Here is the story:

"I had a lot of highlights today, but this one in particular melted my heart. This boy's name is Russell, and he suffers from a physical disability similar to Muscular Dystrophy. I thought he wanted to say hi to me after my assembly with the middle schooler's, but instead he took my hand, and told me he wanted to say a prayer about me. He took my hand, and closed his eyes and said, "Dear God, thank you for bringing Torrey Mercer to Joshua Cowell today. She is so brave and our school really needed this. Thank you so much." After he left the room, I found out he is currently Student Body President. What an absolutely inspiring young boy. I'm rooting for him to be a major politician someday."
