Bio:
Over the past decade the artistic flow and meaning behind hip hop has slowly died off. Mainstream artist filling bars with punch lines about flashy jewelry, naked women and Miscato; it is easy to say that the lyrical MC is far out dated.

Luckily for TRUE hip hop junkies, an MC by the name of TyQuan Thomas has breached the scene and has recaptured the sound of hip-hop through his musical story telling.

Born on April 15th, 1988 in the Southern parts of Sacramento, California, TyQuan was raised by his grandmother and mother Chepelle Thomas. Being the oldest of eight siblings in a fatherless home TyQuan faced adult responsibilities at a young age, and sought after writing music as an escape. His writing has since been influenced by the death of his cousin, Deantwan Thomas, and he has slowly transformed himself into a lyrical story teller.
“I really started taking my writing seriously after the death of my cousin Deantwan (De) Thomas. I had a talent and a voice and I realized that it could be snatched at the blink of an eye and I wanted to share my story with the world.” --- TyQuan Thomas

Also influenced by hip hop artist NAS, TyQuan Brands his musical flow on realism. Representing the struggle as he speaks on issues of importance in his home town of Meadowview, California where family and friends suffer from hardship.

“I feel that my music is more like the original hip hop, when lyrics really meant something, when videos and album covers were more than a picture or entertainment but a message. My music is for the blue collar hard working people because I am one of them.” ---- TyQuan Thomas
With all of the raw tools in place, TyQuan Thomas is patiently learning the ropes while waiting for his time to speak to the world. It has been a long time coming and the dedication and determination that were put in shows in his delivery and according to Buzz Hip-Hop magazine “He has the voice for hip-hop.”

Performing shows around the bay area, collaborating with other hometown artist and pushing to gain the respect of his peers and neighborhood are admirable for a young artist. Understanding that there must be work put in to accomplish the common goal of success.
“Hip-hop is trying to reform itself to what it once was. I see more artists going to REAL music that touches people. Artists are doing more shows because internet downloading is in its prime. It all gets to me though because I know that is what Hip-Hop was originally all about and that’s what I have been about since the jump.”

Being unique in a time of follow the leader is the way to stand out among the rest, and gives opportunity for people to listen, learn and share a different message. TyQuan Thomas message begins now.
“I know what I have to do…It will be done. But in the mean time I will continue to be a sponge and soak up all of the knowledge I will learn through my musical journey.” --- TyQuan Thomas
