Bio:
What exactly is The Dan Sheehan Conspiracy, you ask? The DSC is a rock band from New York named after UFO conspiracy theorist Daniel Sheehan. By sheer coincidence, the DSC’s lead singer and guitarist happens to be named Dan Sheehan. Also by coincidence, the DSC’s drummer, Dave Mason, has the same name as the former guitarist of Traffic. By no coincidence at all, the band also has a guitarist named Simon Kono and a bass player named Gianluis Rosado. Now that that’s cleared up, what else can we tell you? Well, the DSC has been around since late 2007 and in 2008 released a self-titled album to airplay on over 200 radio stations in the U.S. and Europe. They have performed live throughout the United States at festivals and venues from the Northeast to the Southwest. Their music was pumped into retail stores in Europe throughout 2009 and 2010 and they rejected Dog the Bounty Hunter when asked to license the song “See Kay” for an episode. They play varied rock music influenced at times by folk, jazz, hard rock, progressive rock and Eastern music. As of early 2011 the Conspiracy is hard at work recording their sophomore album to be released in the fall of 2011. The DSC song “Collateral Damage,” a song against U.S. war cry for the invasion of Iraq has been studied at Stony Brook University and is featured on the International Anti-War Songs database. The DSC has performed at benefits for the Roswell Cancer Institute in Fredonia, NY, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Jackson Heights Beautification Group, The Traveling Guitar Foundation and more. But, most importantly, the DSC have carried out with remarkable stead their mission to “keep rock real in the 21st century,” a formidable task if there ever was one in this world of ever-increasing cheap thrill rock. Just listen to their music and you will know what we mean.
