Musician all his life, Andy W. Mason started performing on stage at 7 yrs old, began playing professional in coffee houses in Toronto in early 80s. Did theater in several small productions in Toronto, or played music for theater productions, toured Canada with Kensington Youth Theater Ensemble of St. Stephens in 85 (K.Y.T.E.S.), had documentary made for TV about troupe, by Sunrise Films, directed by now-Oscar-winning director Deepa Mehta. Plays in several bands at present, mostly 'cover' bands. Also plays several instruments: Guitar, mandolin, some banjo, harmonica, drums, bass, percussion. Has award-winning CD of original music, called "Long Walk 49", released independently, and played for several years on Aboriginal Voices Radio in Canada, as well as Native Radio in U.S. Songs from CD were nominated for five awards at first annual Native-E Music Awards in US; was co-winner of Mainstream Song of the Year for song 'Battle Raging'.
