- Darren Dunne aka Demon Groove is fast becoming Ireland's hottest new up and coming DJ talent. He is currently producing his music out of his home town Dublin Ireland but his sound began ten years ago in London. Having spent five years there immersing himself in the vibrant club scene he returned to Dublin with a head full of ideas and no clue how to get them down. Having no training in music production, just a love of noise, he bought a synth an old Akai s2800 sampler and a hard disc recorder. Having his musical roots in the indi rock scene his first projects were lo-fi Indi-kid productions with a foot one the dance floor (in the vein of early Cut Copy). In 2008, under the name D-A-R-T-S he released the album 'Black And White Love Story' on LAD Records. It was a collection of songs he had written and recorded in his bedroom over two years. It didn't recieve much attention but it did show a natural talent for writing songs and making music. Not satisfied with the direction and sonic quality of the album he spent most of 2009 building up his production skills and studio equipment. He bought his first DAW (propellerheads Reason and Record) and with the ease and fluidity of this programme and the ability to make beats quickly he found he was finally reaching the bar he had set himself. Around the same time he went looking for new artists to colaberate with on myspace and other music and social networks. These first colaberations were leaning heavily towards the dancefloor. By the end of 2010 the sound was heading in a definite direction and the tracks were getting a lot dirtier and beat heavy. The melodic sensabilities were been given up for something more gutteral and darker. An appropriate name was needed. Demon Groove was born! The first track of any note by Demon Groove was his third track Mad Wax. It was posted on youtube on feb 5th and two weeks later it had over 12,000 hits. It was followed by Rock The Bad Noise and Craze which were hits with his new fans. His popularity is steadily growing and is beginning to gather a solid fan base in the states and the UK.
