As a worship leader, singer and songwriter, she has recognized first hand that the world is less likely to listen to Christian and Gospel music on their own so Laura J is making it her goal to reach the mainstream music generation. With one of the most innovative and intriguing blends of R&B, Soul and even contemporary influences in her music, you cannot help but listen when you hear her. With an accumulated number of painful life experiences Laura J can relate to the world on so many levels. Placing God in the forefront, Laura J's spirit of creativity and passion for music was set from the beginning. Immersed in the vocal genius of Aretha Franklin, Mary J Blige, CeCe Winans, Brandy and Mariah Carey, Laura was vigilantly driven into the world of music. Also, staying in tune with other sounds of today, Laura keeps her ears inclined to the diverse stylings of Mary Mary, Aaron Sledge, Jill Scott, Natasha Bedingfield, Michael Buble, Stevie Wonder and India Irie. Laura J is in this to bring the art, love and power back to music and will not make it a means to be popular and rich. Music transcends culture, race and religion and changing lives is more valuable than gold, silver or anything man can give. That's real. "I want to be a great and positive example to the world that I wish I would have had working in my life” Laura J said. Writing her first song beginning at age of 12 was a virtual escape from her dark realities of life. But Laura has now revealed that which God had hidden for a short time and is burning with the passion of music that has been brewing in her soul. Reaching for an exceeding platform to deliver a message of encouragement, change, reflection, as well as songs that deal with hardship in life and benefits of joy, Laura J is predestined to impact the music industry and she will not stop until she gets to where she is going. This music will make you dance, laugh, cry, think and most of all make you feel again. In December 2009 Laura was extended an opportunity to be included on a small tour in Sicily Italy along with GMA Award winner Scott Holley. “What a phenomenal experience and a true blessing to bring music and the Spirit of God to a people thousand miles away from my home.” Laura has hopes to return and continue building her relationships in other countries. Her ability to move a live crowd and abducting them into her world is only a small part of what to expect from this woman. She is a genuine breath of fresh air and a creative genius. Laura says, Everything I feel, touch, see and experience in life I write about it to allow it to increase the lives others and each song brings healing to my own soul at the same time. I respect music as an art and not as a means to make money. The truth is there is No One doing it like Laura J. And that’s all we can say about that.
