Faye Gatley is a singer and songwriter from Nelson Mandela Bay, Eastern Cape, inspired by real life situations, emotions and current events, to create a unique, pure and engaging sound. Her music is proudly South African with a strong thought-provoking message as well as a funky and infectious sound reaching an audience of all ages and races.
In 2008 she was interviewed on 5FM and MTV’s TRL Radio with her song Butterfly reaching the finals of the Taste of Fame contest. The positive feedback received through the contest prompted the recording of an album.
During 2009 and 2010, Faye recorded her first album consisting of 11 original, self-composed tracks with capital raised from her fans. Her debut album The Way I Play was recently launched to her local fans and supporters.
In December 2010 the first single from her debut album The Way I Play entitled Dear Santa was extremely well received by fans and play-listed on several radio stations across South Africa over the festive season.
In 2011, her original song entitled Don't has been selected to feature on an upcoming Xbox 360 game entitled A-Band. A-Band is set to be released later this year, in several countries including the UK, France and Spain.
Her latest track entitled I Don't Wanna Fight features Bryan Mclagan, frontman of the band “Don't Panic”and is extremely popular on Eastern Cape Radio stations.
