I am Hats Bennett, an Indie Popcorn Roots Folk Rock Fish artist from the Hunter in NSW. I collect hats and musical instruments, the most recent of which is a slinky. I got my first guitar when I was 12 and in highschool I was the guitarist for a heavy metal band. As it turned out, metal wasnt for me, and after pursuing boxing for a few years I rediscovered my love for music in an old Beatles record. I got heavily into The Beatles, Queen and Simon and Garfunkel, which has greatly influenced my song writing. After listening to a Bowerbirds album I really started to take my songwriting and recording seriously. For the past year I have been writing, recording and experimenting with my music. I hope you enjoy my music.
